Last but not least, lets talk about the awesome sound track! Most game spend their lunch money on the music and force us all to use our own music. However, I think the changes were for the best. My one grip is that with all the updates, the fundamentals of the game have changed drastically! I have to basically learn how to play again even with over 200 hours in the game. Once you lose or win, you want to come back for more to test some new insight you may have gained. ![]() Stellaris is so fascinating in all the ways you can win a game. So I think Stellaris implemented a good compromise. I would seriously doubt those who loved the detailed tactical combat never fast forwarded or skipped them all together. Space battles in Moo2, while most say they missed the most, will never admit that they got tedious after a while. Stellaris to me is the next evolution, though I will admit space battles are much less satisfying. I probably sank thousands of hours in those games and have been yearning for a replacement ever since. I am a Space 4x fiend ever since I got hooked by the one two punch of MOO and then MOO2. Stellaris is on a much more grander scale. ![]() It has come a long way indeed! Its tactical battles are best in class, though everything else is bolted on and not fleshed out. I am a fan of both and played Star Sector when it was Starfarer. It is there in Stellaris, but doesn't feel that way, just feels like more of the same. Such as advanced buildings requiring advanced goods. And either the same difficulty through out the game, or more likely a change in what is difficult but remains difficult. ![]() ![]() Involving lots of tactics, not just bigger ships and bigger weapons. I would prefer a game where instead of single make it or break it clashes, there are many skirmishes so you can lose some but cost them. Civ5 also begins exciting then plods to a dull tedium I just got civ6 so let's see how that fares. I've tried slowing down tech and decreasing number of planets but it's not enough. I've heard there is some crisis thing but the grind gets so bad I can't get that far so I don't know about it. If you survive, you pass a certain point usually tech then domination, where it all becomes easier and tedious. I've recently begun Stellaris and I've found it to be like so many other games : quite difficult outnumbered outclassed in the start. So thats the Star Sector2/Star Drive thing? Funny they don't have great reviews, but I'll try them.
